Artificial Exercise
World of Warcraft is a game about running. Players run from one town to another, talking to AIs, and very occasionally, each other. These towns are approximately 90 minutes away from each other. If they talk to the right AIs they get "xp" which is how they level their "in-game characters" up higher, so they have something to discuss with the AIs, and occasionally, each other. Sometimes players get to play a minigame where they fight monsters while pressing buttons 1-9. But mostly they just run.
Mounts
Once players get to level 30, they get mounts. Since they are nerds, their mounts are usually animals, such as raptors, hawkstriders (aptly nicknamed "chocobos"), horses, and wolves. Once they have these mounts, it only takes 40 minutes to travel from one town to another, though it may still take the 90 minutes because they have to discuss with every AI they pass about the new creature that allows them to ride it.
Socialization
Occasionally players participate in a strange ritual know as the Raid, in which 10-25 Players pretend to be Friends to earn special nerd money. In these raids players generally run, die, run and then die again for about 6 hours, very little else is knows about these rituals as they are generally held within nerd cults knows as Guilds.
One of the more interesting things about World of Warcraft is that all the running within it has set the game in a strange time vortex. Jokes about Chuck Norris are still relevent and original, and sites like Ytmnd are considered new and funny!
Most people who play WoW are Internet Whores and/or Fatties that split their time between netsexing each others' svelt, furry avatars in-game, and netsexing each others' disgusting, hirsute shitbags on IRC.
Reality
Everyone who plays WoW should be tossed into a giant plastic shredder and die.
