NOTICE TO ADMINS

  • I strongly recommend all admins contribute to this contest. Your admin status may be at risk if you do not. I do not think it is unfair to ask that admins contribute to this wiki at least once monthly. This notice is being sent to all admins who are not currently signed up for the contest. If you are more than a monthly contributor, please ignore this notice, as we love you dearly. -- Supervisor 194 19:52, 28 Jul 2006 (PDT)

Fair enough then. I'll probably write articles based on red links, because I'm all out of ideas for subjects myself. --Dardi 04:50, 18 Jun 2006 (PDT)

Red Links - Good or Evil?

  • I reverted the drug article, because I actually think that a lot of those are things that could make funny articles. I know there are varying schools of thought on this sort of thing, but I'm of the opinion that every red link represents something that someone might see and go "hey, now *I* can write a funny article about THAT." There is such a thing as going overboard, and I think users should strive to maintain at least an equal balance in new articles between blue and red links, but I don't think red links are all bad. More than once I've written an article just because I saw a red link. Supervisor 194 17:49, 11 Jun 2006 (PDT)

Yeah, a spambot is a script that is designed to fool a website into thinking it is a user. It then floods the site with as many posts as it can before it gets cut off. We got hit with one this past weekend, evidence of which you can see in this list. Scroll down and notice the hundred deletes I had to do. More really good information about how we are protecting this wiki can be found if you read this page.

Out of deference to your contributions to our humble encyclopedia, I am conferring sysop status upon you. You can now help humiliate other, less interesting users as well as reward good ones. Supervisor 194 08:01, 2 Jan 2006 (PST)
