Url catchers are stupid.
Not to be confused with URL pitchers (which do not take it in the ass), URL catchers are scripts or programs which monitor IRC channels watching for lusers to post URLs. They then parse this information and add it to a database that often displays its results on a website that is sometimes referred to as a meme pool.
Internet whores are very fond of URL catchers and meme pools because they allow them to feel like they are better than their luser friends when they post a URL that someone else posted on a different URL catcher to their own stupid IRC channel.
And thus, the vicious circle repeats itself...
