Stupid
From Encyclopedia Of Stupid
Stupidity is stupid.
Ah, stupidity. What makes something stupid? Honestly, just about everything is stupid, when viewed through the prism of objectivity, which is why this wiki exists and strangely enough, is its best hope to flourish. Nothing about what we perceive to be reality makes any sense. The biggest question of all, which is "why should something exist rather than nothing?" is not only unknown to the masses, it is completely incomprehensible to them. That is to say, even if you were to tell them that "why should something exist rather than nothing?" is the biggest question of all, they would not be able to understand the words that were coming out of your mouth, even if English was their first language.
The closest thing one can compare this to would be walking up to someone normal and singing the first verse of the Sesame Street theme song to them in Klingonese:
pem Hov jaj. Haw'choHnIS 'eng 'ej Haj. ghoch vIghaj; 'ej pa' muDmo' jIbel. chay' Sesame He vIghoS? SIbI' jIHvaD 'e' yIDel.
The blank stare of anticlimax that you would undoubtedly receive because of your audience's ignorance masks something that, if understood properly, is quite amusing. These are the English lyrics to the original song that the Klingon version was translated from:
Sunny day Sweepin' the clouds away On my way to where the air is sweet. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?
If this is not yet funny to you, then it is because of your own ignorance of the Klingon language, and you should rejoice, because you are not a big nerd faggot. If the Klingon version quoted above is translated directly back into English, the humor becomes apparent (if you're just nerd enough):
A day of the daytime star. The clouds are compelled to commence fleeing, and are filled with dread. I have a destination; and there, because of the atmosphere, I am pleased. Describe to me IMMEDIATELY how to go to Sesame Street.
And so we have, we believe, our apt metaphor for stupidity. Stupidity is the ignorance of the masses, for if they truly knew how stupid everything was, they might be writing for EOS. Unfortunately, were that the case, there would be far less to write about, and for this we are grateful.
Thanks go to Nick Nicholas and his Klingon translation of the Sesame Street theme song
