Niggers are stupid.
While the word nigger holds an extremely negative connotation when whitey dares to use it to refer to a person of color, it is an acceptable word when used in any other context. What used to be a derogatory variant of negro, it is now simply a term of endearment among people who are familiar with each other, regardless of race or creed ("yo, what's up nigga" being a popular phrase among affluent white teens).
Independent movie auteur Quentin Tarantino popularized the use of the word nigger in the popular vernacular with his movie Pulp Fiction:
In one scene, Jimmy is agitated because Jules has brought a dead black man to his house.
Jimmy (to Jules, who is black): When you drove up in my driveway this morning, did you see a sign that said dead nigger storage?
Jules (obviously not put off by the use of the word nigger by a white man): Aw, Jimmy... you know I didn't...
Jimmy: DON'T JIMMY ME JULES! Do you know why you didn't see a sign that said dead nigger storage? Because storing dead niggers ain't my business, that's why!
In another scene, Marcellus (a black man) is talking to Butch (a white boxer) about how he will lose a boxing match on purpose.
Marcellus: Are you my nigger?
Butch (not put off by the black man referring to whitey as nigger): It would appear so.
The word nigger appeared roughly five thousand times in Pulp Fiction, and caused no controversy, thereby legitimizing its use by the masses. We're all niggers now.
