James Frey is the author of A Million Little Pieces, a nonfiction memoir of his years as an Alcoholic, Drug Addict, and Criminal. Hailed and hyped to bestseller status in October 2005 by Oprah.

This makes 90% of contemporary literary critics, who gave AMLP rave glowing reviews initially, look really stupid too.

Repetitious Drivel passes off as Literary Greatness

He repeats himself Too Damn Often in his Books. James Frey also uses "and" way too many times in one sentence, for example how he steps into a Dorm Room with desks and Windows and couches and stacks of Papers and books and pizza boxes and empty Beer cans and Tapestries on Walls and there's a stereo and a Loft and how he Gags and gets Vomit multiple times onto his Pants and how the vomit is full of Bile and Shit he's never seen before and Bile on his Shirt that he's also never seen before and I GET THE POINT with the Alcohol and the Drugs and being a fuckup for goodness sake. This goes on for basically the whole 400+ pages of the book.

Lessons Learnt

If you want to write a bestseller, repeat yourself three or more times over. You will easily hit 80k-100k words, and more than please your agent/editor/publisher. Include cliches and a general great sob redemption story for an immediate seal of approval from Oprah's Book Club. And write like a broken record. A broken broken broken record. A fucking broken record!
