Internets is stupid.
It is an example of stupidese, notable only for the fact that it was used by stupid US President George W. Bush in a debate during the 2004 election. Terms like this are used by internet whores to prove they are up on the latest memes.
The word "internets" has its origins in the confusion of casual Internet users who mistakenly believed that because Microsoft labeled its Start Menu icon for Internet Explorer "Internet," they were opening up a "new" Internet with each click. They would then refer to these collectively as "the internets on my desktop" to equally confused technical support operators.
It is, therefore, important not to confuse internets with the Internet.
