IRC is stupid.

IRC stands for "Internet Relay Chat." It was the world's first chat system, invented in 1984 to help nerds interact without having to come in physical contact with anyone. For many years, you were required to have a rudimentary understanding of Unix to join and/or use it, until Mirc came along and allowed even AOL users to use it with relative ease (LOL). With the advent of AIM and the rest of the gay IM clients, IRC became less popular for chat, and now it is simply a way to get pirated porn and mp3s without being prosecuted by the RIAA.
