Overview

GenMay, also known as "The [M]," is a webforum (found at genmay.com and genmay.net) that is widely known for its insanely quick response times and its not-so-mature posting techniques. The term "Genmay" is short for "General Mayhem." HardOCP (www.hardocp.com) had a very popular webforum. A subforum there was genmay. This portion was the most popular sub forum and the maintenance of this forum evidently became too much, thus the forum was terminated. Soon after, members of HardOCP purchased the "genmay.com" domain and eventually the HardOCP members flocked over to the [M] to recreate it's general mayhem home.

People would argue that, since registration has been reopened, the forum class has gone south and responses are getting more and more immature. Users who feel this way general stay away from the main forum "General Mayhem" and post in sub-forums, which have stricter rules, or simply avoid genmay all in all...
