Could care less is stupid, as well as another example of stupidese.
Could care less is one of the most commonly used malapropisms and is annoying as hell to those of us who are sticklers for this sort of crap. It implies that you care to some degree about the subject in question, when in fact the intended use of the phrase is to express a complete lack of caring.
The correct usage is Couldn't care less, which is obvious to anyone who isn't a moron.

Think about it: if you could care less, that means you care some. The original already drips sarcasm, so it’s pointless to argue that the newer version is “ironic.” People who misuse this phrase are just being careless.
