China is stupid.
The reason it is extremely stupid is that it breaks easily when it falls on a hard surface. Therefore, it is much better to use plastic plates instead of china. China, on the other hand, is much easier to clean and looks more elegant. Your grandma probably had a lot of gold-coated china plates that she never allowed you to use.
