All Your Base is stupid.
All Your Base is an example of how something that is genuinely funny can be so overused that murder actually becomes justifiable upon hearing again for the eighteen billionth time. For those of you who have been hiding under a rock, a mercifully short explanation will ensue. In 1984, Engrish was invented, as Japanese video game manufacturers had more game titles than they had qualified Japanese->English translators. Because of this, the quality of the English that could be found incorporated into many of these video games was just north of incoherent. One game in particular had an opening screen that read "All your base are belong to us," presumably meaning OMG PWNT (or, for those of you not in the know: "we have taken all of your bases, they now belong to us"). The meme caught on fire and exploded in the Internet's face, burning it severely and subsequently addicting it to pain killers. Every single person on the Internet photoshopped something with "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" and posted it to their nearest message board. A song was made. A video was made. It was funny. Then it wasn't funny. It was completely over with five minutes later. Part of the problem is, as with many, many memes - the rising tide of those who are forever late to the funny, and they are legion. The other part of the problem is, like the morons behind YTMND, the other legion of idiots who think that a joke only gets funnier the longer and more elaborately you pound it up everyone else's ass. It isn't funny, it only makes you a more elaborate troll attention whore than your run of the mill attention whore. LOOK HOW FUNNY I AM!!!! YOU DON'T THINK THAT'S FUNNY? HAHA THAT'S EVEN FUNNIER, THAT YOU DON'T THINK IT'S FUNNY!!!! I WILL DO IT A HUNDRED MORE TIMES AND EACH TIME I WILL LAUGH AT YOU NOT THINKING IT IS FUNNY BECAUSE I AM CLEVER!!!!
