1984 is stupid.

Everything, and I mean everything, (except that which happened sometime before 1975 or in The Future) happened in 1984. Important historical figures such as Tina Turner and The Terminator came from 1984.

Attempts are now underway to recreate 1984 in the USA. It is imperative that a complete police state be developed rather quickly, one in which the government makes all decisions about everything and takes care of every man, woman and child. We are in crisis and there is no time to waste, so we need Brother NOW. And we are going to need Brother to watch us very very carefully so that we don't keep doing ornery stuff Brother doesn't like. Our problems are rooted in past mistakes, not our capacity for future greatness--the greatness Brother thinks we ought to attain. It will take time, perhaps many years, but we can rebuild that lost trust of Brother. We can restore opportunity and prosperity in such a way that Brother will look upon us from the mountaintop and utter the promised words: "Good Boy".

There is no doubt that the cost of this plan will be considerable, but it will be well worth it because Brother will be watching every step of the way. That way, nobody gets hurt, see? It will certainly add to the budget deficit in the short term. But equally certain are the consequences of doing too little or nothing at all under Brother's watchful gaze, for that will lead to an even greater deficit of jobs, incomes and confidence in the financial situation of the country. And the country really does need Brother to do it all for us. The country can't survive without Brother. Brother is wise. Brother knows all. Brother knows best and will direct our lives from now and ever more.
